A Melbourne police officer is appealing a decision to suspend him for 80 hours without pay for reckless driving due to an incident in November, in which he crashed his patrol car into a stop sign and did not report it to his superiors, officials said.
The officer, John Pasko, remains on duty until a decision is reached.
Documents show that Pasko crashed his patrol car into a stop sign on Riverview Drive in Palm Bay on Nov. 14 and did not report the accident. The car sustained dents and damage on the driver's side.
Video from the dash-camera shows Pasko examining the damage to the car after he hit the stop sign.
But he later told a nurse that he had no recollection of the incident, records show.
An incident in January 2008 resulted in Pasko being issued a reprimand for "intoxicants and substances that impair ability."
Pasko was disciplined and received counseling in 2004 and 2005, once for off-street parking and once for failing to use personal responsibility for department property.
According to his profile on Facebook, John Pasko is a Hostage Negotiator and Crisis Intervention Officer with Melbourne Police Department.

Pasko arrested KENNETH JACKMAN and threated him to be put in body bag because Kenny didn't want to take a deal for 3-75year sentence.Kenny was caught with 100 oppiods.Kenny said this by phone while in jail.Kenny was set up because he was on drugs and needed treament not jail.
DeleteJohn Pasko in my Opinion is a DRUG addict, I reviewed his Files that are discoverable under the Florida Sunshine act, and I saw that he had been taking Narcotic drugs, the very same kind that he was arresting medical professionals for which in one case her was personally sued and had to settle it legally using tax payers monies for the best lawyer that money can buy! His police vehicle contained narcotic drugs, they did a Urine test NOT a Drug urine test by the city workers comp doctor, with inconclusive results. This guy is a druggie in my opinion, I mean just walk in to the police dept in Melbourne and ask to get copies of his files under the FL sunshine laws. This FAT uneducated idiot, ruins people's lives out of jealousy that he wishes for to live, based on his delusional drug induced opinions. This guy is a complete LOSER and should have been fired from his job, which planet is he living on that he is still back on the Job after all his money wasting screw ups and now this driving incident, he could have killed some one, why is he still at the Melbourne police dept? He had a hit and run in two cases, (read his files) hello any one out there, are you waiting for some one to be taken out in a body bag till they arrest him? Can any normal citizen drive like that and NOT get arrested? John A Pasko is a Criminal and should be treated as such!

DeleteI live in Melbourne, Florida and I can tell you, firsthand, that all of the officers I have had contact with are SCUMBAGS, TRULY AND UTTERLY THE WORST THAT HUMANITY HAS TO OFFER. They are corrupt, racist, arrogant, rude, lazy, and abuse people on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to see anyone killed but I can tell you I understand why it is that officers and sheriff's deputies, like Barbara Pill, get shot. Almost everyone I know hates them and I have even known people who have said that they throw a party every time a cop gets injured/dies. This system is permanently BROKEN and needs a COMPLETE OVERHAUL. THEY SHOULD BE AFRAID OF US, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

I have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Pasko as he leads Families of the Shield. I find him to be an impressive senior. I'm sorry about all of this. And although he should have turned in the information about recking the cruiser maybe he thought he could fix the damages before anyone find out about it. There are many working class people taking mood altering substances a lot of times because they are prescribed we don't think they do use any harm. In this case, I'd say, perhaps his meds needed modifying. The only way sometimes that doctors find out that your dosage is to high is when things like this happen.
